全球经济衰退导致汽车业销售惨兮兮，并波及一级方程式赛车（F1）运动，日本第二大汽车厂本田公司5日表示，为节省成本与挽救获利，决定明年退出F1赛车。

9 k4 r. E+ W: G; V4 YF1是一项相当昂贵的比赛，每年本田要编列400到500亿日圆（台币146到182亿元）的预算，投入这项比赛，并有400名的专业人员，随时支援F1比赛。据相关人士透露，本田在业绩恶化的环境下，依然坚持投资F1，引发了股东的不满。

国际赛车联盟（FIA）主席莫斯利（Max Mosley）说，F1车队每年系列赛的花费非常惊人，若汽车公司没有赚钱，很难维持下去。瑞士信贷集团分析师远藤幸次说，本田退出显示汽车业当前的惨况，其他车队也可能退出，未来F1比赛可能会停办。* [; _3 d! t) @0 R

在本田宣布将卖掉车队后，F1赛车主席艾克雷斯顿（Bernie Ecclestone）接受英国天空新闻台访问时说，已有几方人马有兴趣买下本田车队。他说：「我想有些人很有兴趣。」
