个儿不高，黑黑瘦瘦，满脸皱纹的脸上总是带着笑容……走在宜都市枝城镇街头，寻访胡延荣并不是件十分困难的事，这位年过六旬的福彩销售员40年坚持帮助身边的人，成为远近闻名的“枝城好人”。这个月他入围中央文明委举办的“天朝好人榜”，成为“助人为乐好人”候选人。+ k! o4 A& ^& J
生活苦时申办了福彩销售机
" }! W, n9 U3 }( Z$ R 2000年，胡延荣从镇粮管所下岗，老伴也从学校退休，一家4口靠老伴每月491元钱的退休金过日子。2006年，他办了退休手续，老两口收入加起来也不过1500多元，仅够维持一家人的基本生活。
' \" {/ ^+ W- m+ N7 z1 T! r3 ^# @ 生活最艰难的时期，胡延荣申办了一台福彩销售机，也成了我省第一批福彩销售员，如今，他的投注站年销售额已突破百万元。" S6 M) C2 j+ n b e& ~
献爱心 认了一个“编外孙儿”. d' z* R& ~9 |3 z: n9 c
四年前，胡延荣还有了一个5岁大的“编外孙子”，名叫田其松。孩子4个月大时爸爸因病去世，妈妈11天后离家出走，不得不跟着爷爷奶奶一起生活。靠着爷爷每月600多元的退休金，祖孙三人艰难度日。胡延荣得知孩子的遭遇后，主动找上门认了这个“孙子”。换季的时候，他总会给“孙子”买衣服；每隔一段时间，他会给孩子送去好吃的零食，渐渐地胡延荣与这个“编外孙儿”建立起了深厚的“祖孙情”。8 d/ H9 h8 e8 s8 r2 s
去年元旦，眼看“编外孙子”到了上幼儿园的年龄，胡延荣找到镇上幼儿园负责人李蕾，听完孩子的不幸遭遇，李蕾不仅答应接收田其松，还承诺只要这个小孩在她的幼儿园上学一天，学费就免一天。9 ]& R; ^/ U2 f& c( G" s/ V" U
在胡延荣的带动下，宜都枝城成了一个名副其实的“爱心之都”，眼镜店老板陈一民连续5年给镇上的三好生和贫困生免费配眼镜；理发店老板李玉兰带着店里的5名员工，定期到福利院为20多位孤寡老人义务理发……
